OPMA Meetings

The OPMA meets most months throughout the year (alternating breakfast or dinner sessions). The association also sponsors two continuing education workshops and three annual social events, each per year.

IAN is responsible for leading IMS’s thought leadership initiatives in Canada and has held a variety of positions at IMS in his 25 year career there. His deep industry insight has made him a sought-after speaker at numerous industry and academic conferences. Ian will share findings from the IMS Launch Excellence Study.

ROBERT founded The Productive Leadership Institute, a member of the largest leadership development organization in the world. Robert’s extensive pharma career included a position as Sales & Marketing Director for Allergan Canada, where he led the blockbuster launch of Botox. Robert will discuss the importance of internal resource alignment to support a successful launch.

PETER’s 20-year career in the pharma business has included increasingly senior sales and marketing positions at Upjohn, Pharmacia, Searle and Sanofi-Aventis. He’s been involved in the launch of blockbusters such as FRAGMIN®, CELEBREX®, AVAPRO®, PLAVIX® and TYSABRI®. Peter will discuss strategies for developing key opinion leader advocates.

BOB is responsible for government relations, health policy and corporate communications at Nycomed Canada. Bob’s 16-year career in pharma has included health policy and market access positions with several pharmaceutical companies including Bayer and Altana. Bob will share recent market access success stories under the new Common Drug Review process.

DENIS leads the healthcare practice at National in Montreal. Denis’ 20 years of experience includes the development and implementation of leading-edge disease awareness campaigns and product launches in a variety of therapeutic areas. Denis will close the meeting with a summary of key communication strategies to support a successful launch.
